Dear New Stetson MBA Student,
I just wanted to send you a quick note from Stetson University’s School of Business Administration with my congratulations on your acceptance into our joint MS in Pharmacy and MBA program with the University of Florida. I am Associate Dean of our School of Business and Director of this program for Stetson.
We are all extremely excited about the prospect of beginning this collaboration with you and UF. I’m sure you are well aware of the exceptional quality of both UF’s Pharmacy program and their faculty. I’m confident that as you get to know our faculty and programs here at Stetson you will come to that same conclusion about us.
As Dr. David Brushwood from UF and I put this program together, there were two main principles that guided our discussions. First and foremost, design a joint program that provides a return on your investment that is greater than the sum of its parts. Our goal is to provide you exceptional value beginning with your first day in the program and lasting throughout the duration of the program. Our second goal is to provide you a curriculum that, while concentrating on the pharmacy industry, does not constrain your learning about the broader aspects of today’s business environment. Obviously, in the MS portion of your program at UF you will focus on pharmacy issues. In the MBA portion of your program, we will focus on pharmacy topics where appropriate and relevant. We feel however, that it is crucial that you see business issues that exist outside the pharmacy domain. Your MBA curriculum will focus on the myriad of issues that face business leaders (both entrepreneurs and corporate executives) today. You will be introduced to and become conversant with both technical and non-technical business disciplines, but, I promise, you will not "miss the forest for the trees".
Since you will not take your first Stetson course until the Spring semester, I will not burden you with bureaucratic details. As you get closer to our courses, I will provide you with whatever details you need. We will make your transition from UF courses to Stetson courses and back as seamless as we possibly can. The only thing I need from you in the short term is a copy of official transcripts from any academic institutions you attended. If you would, please have them sent to me directly – if you haven’t already done so. My address here is:
